Woolen Weavings from High Mountain People
3rd August - 11th November 2017

From China, Tibetan woolen tie-dyed blankets, clothing and a meditation mattress. A felt cape from the Yi people. From Bhutan’s central area a colorful woven Charkhab rain coat. And from Bhutan’s northern Drakpa tribal people a unique costume. In Arnachal Pradesh, India, the same tribal people are called Monpa, and in China they are called Menpa—their felt caps are very unique. About 50 pieces will be displayed.
